Anu designed, formatted and managed Haath se Haath Milaa for the BBC World Service Trust. Haath Se Haath Milaa was India’s largest HIV/AIDS awareness media campaign with an original and innovative format that involved over 50 Bollywood stars and created “Yuva Stars”, youth icons who worked together to raise awareness on HIV/AIDS. HSHM was an effective tool for bringing in a positive Behaviour Change in the millions of viewers that it touched weekly. The 52 episode weekly, youth- focused reality television show reached out to over 200 million viewers in India, maintaining its position in the top 50 shows, for a year.

 

Anu designed, created and directed the Haath se Haath Milaa music video, which was the most ambitious attempt ever, to raise HIV/AIDS awareness among the nation’s youth, Anu persuaded 50 of India’s top film stars and creative talent to do it pro-bono!

 

With music composed by Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani, Loy Mendonca, lyrics by Javed Akhtar and sung by Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal, this sensational music video was shot on film and featured, amongst them John Abraham, Bipasha Basu, Fardeen Khan, Zayed Khan, Shilpa Shetty, Dia Mirza, Raveena Tandon, Waheeda Rehman, Jackie Shroff, Naseerudin Shah, Tabu, Lara Dutta, Sonu Nigam, Neha Dhupia, Ayesha Takia, Malaika Arora Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Amrita Arora, Dino Morea, Raima Sen, Riya Sen, Kunal Kapoor, Tusshar Kapoor, Isha Koppikar, Yana Gupta, Aftab Shivdasani, Smriti Irani, Mona Singh, Saakshi Talwar. The video was showcased on all leading TV channels and PVR Cinemas for 3 months nationwide.

 

The making of music video is a candid “behind the scenes” look at all the elements that went on to creating this historical video. Anu shares her concept, treatment design and strategy that she employed and the meticulous pre-production elements like music composition, choreography, art-direction, etc along with the excitement of the actual production and dealing with 50 Bollywood stars.
